For this production of Rent, one of our big focuses was centering radical movements and activism present in the late eighties and early nineties. The beginning of the dramaturgical heart of this production was The Gentrification of the Mind by Sarah Schulman

Perhaps the World Ends Here is a story rooted in Choctaw stories and beliefs, intermingled with video games and gaming culture. As a sound designer, it was a great joy to explore so many rich worlds of sound for this production.

This show, from the Verbatim Performance Lab, was written from a series of interviews of New York residents around the fall of 2022. Scenes were interspersed with audience activations, where the audience was called on to participate, and help to educate audience members about their housing rights and the state of housing in New York City.
